Windermere Adventure

A few weeks ago I went on a little adventure to the Lakes with my friend Liz, it was great to relax and get some fresh air as we both had been doing plenty of university work and thought we would go out and take some photographs! Costa was a must on this trip, well every trip needs a Costa ice drink to be honest!
We went to some cafes and walked around some book stores which was lovely and it was great to have time to relax and take some images! We went on a 45 minute boat ride round the lake which I enjoyed as we got to sit and look at the lovely views of the mountains and boats whilst taking in the fresh air! I must say I am really enjoying taking some trips away for the day to photograph and relax it is a must! I need to plan my next trip on the train asap!

Quote Of the Week

I love Pinterest and I am always looking for quotes and inspiration from it., I thought I would share my findings each week on my blog. Inspirations to start the week right and to become focused and happy :)
This quote is relevant to me this week as I have now finished university and thinking about the future and scared but excited to see what the future holds for me. I am defiantly going to keep up with my blog and photograph more, I have so many project ideas that I want to do and ideas on how to create them. Next on my list of things to do is buy a note pad and write all my ideas for my projects down! more focused than I have ever been and I love it!

Birds Of prey Project

This is what I have been up to the past 6 months at University, I adore this project and worked really hard to achieve the best results possible for my degree show. Last night was my degree show in Preston which was lovely being able to show my family what I have been working on for last 6 months. I also got nominated for a Creative Focus award which was amazing,  really did not expect to have received the email inviting me to the awards! It was a lovely ceremony  :) The next exhibition is in London next week which I am so excited for, so happy I have the chance to go, hard work really does pay off and I have loved university so much!

A photo story- Little Abi

Thought I would do a little different post today on my blog, thought that I don't add enough about who runs this blog and to start it off thought that making this post would help this. I was looking through old baby photos and loved looking through all the memories and thought it would be cute to share on my blog. I adore this blog and really enjoy thinking about posts to type up and what to do next. This Summer I want to fill this blog with so many posts! :)

Well my name is Abi kempen but I was born Abigail Tweedie, my mom got re married and as we moved to England we thought it be new start to take on my step dads surname. I was born on the 29th May in Preston but moved to South Africa a few weeks later. I lived in South Africa for 15 years before my family decided to move back to England. I loved South Africa and I love that I am from there and got the chance to grow up there.
I was also a twin but my sister didn't survive too long after birth because I was meant to be born in July and instead was far too early and small. My mom got told that I would not survive too but I did! I do live thinking that I am lucky and that I miss my little twin sister even though never met her but I do think that I am lucky and live for her. so deeeep but it is true :)
In this photo is my mom she is the best mother you could ask for, our family have been through a lot, you could possibly write a book about it. My dad decided to become a drunk when I was 10 and became very nasty towards my mom, they divorced and I hadn't spoken to my dad in ten years till recently he found me on Facebook and told me he is very sorry and that he has changed his life around so much. I am pleased that he has done so and that he is not still the man I knew as a baby! I now receive lovely post cards from South Africa from him and we keep in touch which is nice after so many years of bad memories from him!
I loved going to my grandma and granddads house so much when I was little, we used to play scrabble and watch cartoon network. I used to empty a full bucket of lego on to her floor every time! sorry nan! :)
I lived on a farm when I was a baby in South Africa, Johannesburg, probably why I want to save every animal and have so many pets!  Looks like I am making the mother chicken very angry in this photo by chasing her babies! oops! I did love the weather in South Africa compered to the snow in England, I still do not like the snow! :) I moved to England in 2005 and started in year ten at school which was hard, I had come from my first year at high school in South Africa to nearly finishing high school here in England. In South Africa I learnt to understand Afrikaans fluently in 3 months to go to an Afrikaans high school in which I really enjoyed! I can speak it a little bit still and I really don't want to forget it. I am glad I still understand it though :)
We are in Port Elizabeth in this photograph, we did go on many lovely family holidays when I was little. My moms outfit is so cute in this photo :) I would love to go back and visit one day!
Oh how much do I look like a boy in this image, odear!
I am naturally a blonde, I dye my hair dark now but in South Africa the sun made my hair even blonder!
This was taken in Cape Town, looks really nice!
This photograph sums up all the Safari holidays I went on with my mom, dad and brother. I have no idea if this is a real cheetah or not! I am assuming it is not?! But I love it as it reminds me of where I come from and how much of a beautiful place it is! My moms legs are so brown! Thanks to my mom I always seemed to have a silly short hair cut? :( I loved the Safari holidays and have so many funny stories about them! for example my dad nearly crashed his merc because I screamed RHINO! oops he was not happy bunny at that moment in time ahha! I love that I got the chance to live in Africa and how much I have done to make my family proud, I am proud to tell my dad after not speaking for ten years that I have a degree! :) I feel so old now after looking through all these photos! :)

Lavender Lies - Maybelline Color Show

Maybelline Color Show

This colour is one of my favorites this year, I adore lilacs and dark purples. My Angelica nail polish ran out so thought I must buy a new purple colour until I head to Primark to re purchase that colour. These polishes I hadn't tried till they came out on offer with buy one get one half price. I am glad I picked some up because the quality of them is amazing and they dry so fast which is a bonus as I tend to smudge them before they have dried which is a pain. This colour I think is suitable for all year round wear specially when you work and need a nice simple but lovely colour to make your nails look pretty and not too bright. I tend to add glitter nail polish to all my colours and no doubt will be trying it with this colour too soon.
I love the price of this product and the quality is amazing, I will be purchasing a lot more of these this year as I am very impressed by them so far. I blogged about the speckle pink nail colour earlier this week. (LINK
This nail polish is easy to apply and only needs one coat to look perfect which is great, you can add another to create more intense colour. This is defiantly in my May favorites in which I am thinking of doing a May favorites this week, this is probably going to make an appearance again.
Defianlty going to buy a few more of these nail polishes as I am really impressed by it and cannot think of a bad word to say about it!

Have you tried this product?

Formby Beach 3/6/2013

On Monday we decided to have a day out to the beach as it has started to brighten up this week with some lovely weather. The beach is my favorite place to be ever as it is so relaxing and I adore seeing my dog so happy swimming in the sea. I have made a huge effort to go places this year even if it is just around the corner like this beach. The air did me good to be out and soaking up the sunshine, Bella met a new dog friend called Penny which was so cute they had so much fun running around and getting muddy. I love days out like this as you feel relaxed at the beach and the fresh air makes you so sleepy when you get home. It was a fantastic day out and much needed! I have been using my new camera a lot since my birthday so hopefully you don't mind a lot of the lifestyle posts. I want to be able to go to the beach a lot more this Summer with Izabella and go explore places. I have planned a trip to Paris soon after graduation and this Monday I am going for a day out to the Lake District which will be lovely :)

Maybelline Color show- Polka Dots

Colour show- Polka Dots £2.99

I do love this nail polish, it is fun and is different, the polka dots instantly caught my eye in Boots and I had to try it. They were on offer when I bought 2 colours, I got this one and a lilac shade. The nail polish is quit light at first when you apply it to the nail but with a second coat it starts to become more pink. If you wanted to you could do a very light pink base coat and then apply the polka dots to give it a bit of help to show through nicely.

I love the colour of this one and it does last considering it has bits in it, i expected to have to add a clear coat on top to flatten the dots but there was no need to. They stay on and it feels quit flat to the nail with no hassle of catching the bits. I like the fact it is sheer as you can add it to another colour to experiment with the dots.

This product is only £2.99 and is a fun update to your nails!

Southport Summer fair!

Southport Summer Fair

Today was such a lovely sunny day and it was well spent walking round a Summer fair that involved falcons, owls and shows. I adored walking round and watching the border collie shows as they are amazing and one of my favorite dogs as I have my own collie Izabella.
What I did love about today was that you could hug a husky, there were about 20 of them to hug and I loved this it was so cute!
There were a lot of owl displays on today at the fair and I got to meet a baby barn owl that was the cutest thing you will have ever seen. Gave out some business cards for them to see the work I did for Turbary Woods. LINK :)

I love days out like this, it really is lovely to walk around in the sunshine and relaxing, watching dog shows and eating ice creams!
