Get The Make Up Look - Ellie Goulding

So today I felt like doing a blog post out of my comfort zone, so here it is a get the look post. This is completely new to me and I am no way a professional when it comes to applying makeup. I really enjoy doing my make up and thought I would try copy a celebrities style to mix up my own routine. For my fist attempt I chose Ellie Goulding, I am loving her music at the moment and I think her style is incredible. I do wish I could have her beautiful golden locks but i'll stick with trying to perfect the make up look.

I created this look only using drugstore products and a few new products that I am trying out at the moment. I bought the Max Factor Face Finity foundation and so far its going well, I love the coverage it gives me. Its a lot thicker than my usual foundations such as Revlon Photo Ready but I fancied buying one that would look flawless and cover more than usual for events or days out. This foundation has primer, concealer combined which creates a perfect blend for coverage. I am on the hunt for a new primer but this foundation doesn't seem to need any more, I love the feel of it as well, its not very thick. It dries so evenly and I apply it with my Real Techniques brush.

onto how I re created this look, I started off with my Max Factor Finity foundation, using my Real Techniques foundation brush I slowly added a small amount as I went on to my skin. This foundation seems to apply well when you use a small amount. I didn't want it to look caked on, Ellie always looks flawless but looking like she fell out of bed like that. I then went on to add some bronzer to my cheek bones for some definition, only adding a small amount to my forehead and nose.I used the Bourjois bronzer for this look because its not a heavy toned bronzer.  I then went on to use my Mua blush in the shade candy floss, Ellie seems to have this baby doll cheek effect going on, I'm not the best at make up words to describe the look but i'm trying. I added quite a bit of blusher to my cheeks, if you do too much just go over with your foundation brush or add some power to tone it down.

As you can tell my Mua eye shadow palette has had a lot of loving lately, I use it most days. The quality for £4 works wonders. I love it and tend to re purchase as soon as its about to run out, one of my favourite drug store eye shadows at the moment. This is the Heaven and Earth palette, I started of with the lightest shade all over my lids and just under my eye brows using my Real Techniques eye enhancer kit. I then went on to use a light shade of brown just in the crease of my lid. I didn't want to go over the top with any eye colour as Ellie seemed to only be wearing a small amount. I went on to use the darkest brown in this palette to perfect my eye brows, just fill them in a little bit. I think if you have good eye brows it sets the look off well. I then went on to add my Collection concealer under my eyes to make my skin look refreshed with out any tired eyes.

The next step would be to add a thin line of liquid eyeliner, starting from the inner corners of the eye. Carefully try and do a thin line of liquid eyeliner till you get to the outer corners, then do a small flick. I turn my head to the side to do my flicks, this helps me steady my hand to do them. My go to mascara has to be Rimmel extra super lash, it gives my eye lashes lots of volume and it helps my eye stand out. I have been using this mascara for years now and its never let me down. I love that I could re create this look only using drug store products and hope that I did a good job for you. Let me know what you think of this look and if you would like to see more. To finish off the look I applied the Rimmel Kate Moss 101 lipstick and went on to apply some lip gloss over it.
