Bank Holiday, Happiest dog and Doughnuts!

On bank holiday Monday myself and Rob took our pooch for a day out, to a dog show. Last year we went to a similar one but this one was closer to home this year so decided to go and have a cold bank holiday day out. We put on our winter coats on and braved the dull windy weather. It was lovely to see our friends there too with their gorgeous pup Pennie. We decided to enter some fun dog show competitions. Pennie came second in the category Best condition and Bella came third in the Happiest dog category. Bella always has a huge smile on her face which I call her cheeky grin. I purchased some biscuits from the greyhound stall which also goes to a good cause. Bella enjoyed her heart shaped oat biscuits.

I love doing a post like this on a Sunday, I want to be able to store some amazing memories on here to share with you. A small snippet into my life, I hope you enjoy reading them. I want to start vlogging and YouTube once I have my own house, so keep an eye out for that near Christmas...

This is how I love to spend my days off, my dog, Rob and amazing friends. It was a cold, windy day but that never stops us from having fun with our dogs. I love Autumn walks with my wellies and warm coat. I went for a laid back approach to my outfit which involved Vans, the best comfy footwear in my opinion. This was a lovely bank holiday and we now have two 3rd place rosettes, last year Bella came third in the sausage catching challenge.

What did you do on the bank Holiday?

Product Of The Week #4 - Exfolia Beauty Cloth

Lately my skin has been a nightmare to control, it started looking like planets were growing. I tried everything to try get it under control, drinking more water and using a few more products. Its started looking back to its usual self now and I will do a little skin care post for you soon to show you what I have been using. One of the products I have been loving is this little beauty cloth.

I use this after I have all my make up off, before applying my night cream. I have found that this little cloth has been a miracle worker to improve the look of my skin. Its super soft and it feels great once your skin is make up free. This cloth lasts up to 80 washes which is great, I would replace this beauty back into my skin care routine. I am so pleased with how my skin looks after using this for around two weeks now. It seems more even and soft, my skin is clearer and by using this in the morning before applying my make up it creates a lovely base to work off. My foundation looks super smooth and for me this is a huge bonus after months of bad skin. I usually have alright skin, its usually quite dry too which is a pain but by using this little cloth it buffs off all the unwanted dryness.

I think this is a great little addition to my skin care, its helped improve the look of my skin which is what I really want in preparation for the Cosmopolitan blog awards in October. All skin types can use this which is impressive. I might have to buy a couple for small Christmas gifts this year as I know my mom would love this.

Whats new to your skin routine, any recommendations?

I just want to say a quick thank you for all your support during the voting for the Cosmopolitan blog awards. A dream come true, my blog means the world to me and its a huge part of my life now which will continue. Your support means the world to me <3

A Drugstore Make up Starter Kit.

When I started wearing make up I had no one to show me where to shop or what to wear. I grew up in South Africa where I wore little make up and when I went to year ten in England I felt so out of the loop about all things beauty. When I wrote my review about GHD I explained how they changed my life, literally made a big difference to my life. I wanted to share with you products that are budget friendly and easy to wear. I love drug store make up and I love trying out all brands, in my make up bag I use these on a daily basis.

Mua: I love this brand and I use it myself, I have been using products from them for around two years now. This brand is sold online and in store at Superdrug. I love the quality of the products, they look great too. I think this is a great brand to use to bulk up your make up bag or even to create a starter kit. I buy my mom some of the Mua products and she adores them too. You can pick up single eye shadows for £1 and blushers for around £3. Large eye shadow palettes cost around £4, I have three of the palettes myself.

Rimmel: Do I need to say anymore? Rimmel have been my go to brand for years. I started wearing make up when I was around 14 years old. Rimmel are reasonable priced and they have a huge range of products that you can trust. I love the Kate Moss lipsticks, they are incredible I have a huge collection of them myself. I love the quality, the packaging and everything about Rimmel. This brand has been the brand I trust for many many years now. You can buy so many lovely pieces for cheap but what you get is amazing. I love the Rimmel foundations, I always have one in my own make up bag.

Bourjois: I love purchasing make up from Bourjois, I do find a few items a little pricey when I am on a budget. Saying this though you absolutely get what you pay for, the products are amazing. I love the Bourjois as they create such lovely products, I love the magic nail polish remover, this has changed the way I do my nails for sure. I am no longer lazy when it comes to removing all my nail polish. This brand is one to check out if you are starting to wear make up!

Sleek: This brand is sold in Superdrug, you can buy so many cute products from them. I only have a couple products from them but both work wonders. I am loving the Sleek blemish balm, it is light on the skin but it covers all that you want to hide from the world. I think this would be great to wear for school, its light and leaves the skin looking great. If you have lovely skin you don't need to pile lots of foundation on, you may regret this later on if you do. This is light enjoy to work with to create a subtle school make up look. Prices for Sleek are reasonable and they look great in your make up collection, whats not to love.

Make up Revolution: my new found love this brand, I am loving everything they bring out. I am so happy with the prices of this brand, similar to Mua but I am totally converted to this stand in Superdrug. From day one of testing out this brand I knew it was going to be great, I have a brand focus post on this if you fancy a read. You can buy make up palettes from £6 and I can confirm they are incredible. The pigmentation in the eye shadows are insane, I love the packaging and look of all the products. They sell make up for your eyes, skin, lips and cheeks and adding in the extra of skin care. Nothing is left out with this brand, amazing products that you can fill your make up bag with for less than £30.

What brands do you love?

My Nail Care Routine.

 Primark £2

Recently I have really taken to nail care, I usually want to paint my nails as fast as possible. Since purchasing this cute nail kit from Primark I have really taken to spending more time on my nails. When I take time out to do my nails I find my nails look really shiny and the colour looks fab on. I have been loving using my Essie nail polishes, this is the first time I have purchased any and they are amazing. I find that they last longer than any others in my nail collection and even when they have chipped they still look fab due to the colour only chipping slightly. I find that Essie nail polishes are really shiny and the three i have tried all work the same, I love the formula. I find that the brush on the Essie products glides on to the nail really well which helps me to paint them well.

I am loving what Primark has to offer at the moment, you can find so many little treasures in there. I love using this cute little kit, it has everything you seem to need for a good nail care routine. I also picked up some cute nail files with a panda print on it, anything with a panda on it let me know because I will want it. When I picked up my giveaway for you guys, I decided to buy the matching pocket mirror too. You can win your own over on my giveaway here!!

I also picked up this lovely mint coloured Primark nail polish. It doesn't last very long but you can't expect too long with the price of this nail colour but it is great. It goes onto your nails well and the colour is perfect, this is a similar colour to my new car which is why I bought it. I love the packaging too, its a simple yet effective look. If you had all the colours out on your dressing table it would look super pretty. I am loving taking care of my nails at the moment, I always use my Soap and Glory hand food after everything has dried and my favourite top coat at the moment is Cleard For take off which is by Sally Hansen.

What do you use to keep your nails in good condition?

A little note to you!

Wednesday Wish List!

When it comes to Fashion I love to wear anything comfy and what I think suits my shape. I am a huge fan of the Autumn trends, I love Summer for the brights but Autumn with the big comfy jumpers is right up my street. I love Autumn when I can pop on my wellies and go on long chilly walks with my dog. I have been looking for a dress and heels to wear to the Cosmopolitan blog awards, if you see anything let me know I would love some help to find the perfect outfit. I want to have fun with it and really dress up, after all I am so excited for the night and feel so proud to even be able to attend the event no matter being up for the 'Best established beauty blog' award!! I might purchase these cute chunky sole platforms, I love that they are simple yet super cute. I need to find my dress first to see if they will fit well with them.

I am a huge fan of the Topshop jeans and I think I don't have enough of them in my life. I really want a pair with rips in them, I just love how Anna dresses from Vivianna does make up. Her style is what I want my wardrobe to look like one day, comfy yet super stylish. I would love this grey jumper from Boohoo, it has cute white hearts on the elbows. If I can buy these items, bring on the Autumn and cold days.

I am on the hunt for a lovely black bag for the Winter and when I saw this Topshop hinge plate holdall, I knew it had to be mine. I think its a great price for a beautiful Topshop handbag too. You may know I love changing up my Iphone case and when I saw that wonder Forest designed these I knew I may need one. I'm getting a mini Dachshund next year and I love the way these phone cases look, super cute.

Lets see what I may buy on Payday?

The start of my Mac collection.

Recently I have decided to try get a few more high end products into my life. I do love drug store products though but it is nice to be able to treat yourself now and then. I am pleased to have the Studio Sculpt foundation in my life, it lasts all day and sits well on my skin. It has a great coverage for my skin which I love and I love that even though its more expensive than my usual foundation I find that it lasts a lot longer than a couple months use. I find that a small amount goes a long way and the coverage lasts all day which is what you need when you have a long day ahead of you. I love the finish it gives my skin, it looks so much more healthy and glowing. I have a full review of this foundation here.

I tried this product when I visited Laura in London a few months ago for the Cosmopolitan super blogger event and fell in love with it. I had to go out and buy my own, I love how it highlights my cheeks and brow bone. I use this on special occasions and when I want to add something special to my everyday simple make up. I just love how it glows in the light, it gives off such a lovely effect. I love the packaging of Mac, it feels great to have some mac in my make up collection. It has taken me years to finally purchase some Mac but I am so pleased I have. I love drug store make up but sometimes its great to have something just that bit more special. I use my Mac products very carefully and I enjoy them, its lovely to have something you treasure and look forward to using when you have an event to go to.

The lady who helped me chose which products to go for she gave me a sample of the Mac primer which I can admit I now want to buy. I love a good primer but I will wait until I have used up the ones I have. I think Mac can be a good investment because it lasts a long time, I find that would be great for my money in the long run. I will now have a Mac foundation in my life for a very long time, I have enjoyed using it and its a lovely treat. I may need a few more lipsticks as I would love some Autumn colours and some cute pink ones....

What Mac products do you recommend?

Sunday Post: Sunshine, Dogs and fresh air.

Max
 Bella's mommy Jessica

I am thinking of starting a weekly Sunday post where I share with you random photographs from my week. I always carry my camera with me in case a blog post idea pops into my head, let me know what you think of this idea in the comments. Every week we try take Bella out to our favourite place near our home, its got such a beautiful feel to it. I love that we can walk miles and Bella can swim and meet other doggies. Its a lovely place to clear your mind and just relax, we love to walk here with our friends and their pooch too. On this walk we met so many dogs on the way, Bella was squeaking watching them all dive into the water. She wasn't impressed when a Labrador stole her stick, she swam out and took it back.

excuse my messy hair and dressed down approach but this is how I look on walks, comfy clothes all the way. I love my Moschino sunglasses they go everywhere with me lately, I am going to miss wearing them when we hit Winter.

On Friday I visited my Mom and she has three cracker dogs, they are so hyper but Bella fits right in. She loves going to play with Max, Nevada and Jessica in the garden, Jess and Nevada are related to Bella which is lovely that she gets to see her mommy and sister. The last photograph I want to print and frame when we get our own home, she makes me so happy. You can tell how happy she is, if she smiled any more her ears would fall off. This is how I love to spend some of my days off, my pooch and family make me happy.

Product Of The Week #3 : Discovery Club

The Fragrance Shop

I love to try out new perfumes otherwise I end up buying all my favourites all over again. When you are in Boots or a fragrance shop I feel as though your not getting the full experience of each perfume, if you are like me and spray loads on yourself to try find one that suits. I am on the hunt for a new perfume and through this box I have found a couple I would love full size versions of. I love mini testers of perfumes and this box is a fun, different beauty box.

About the Box: This beauty box is run through The Fragrance Shop and its called the Discovery Club. This beauty box costs £5 go sign up to, total subscription £20. In this box you get seven samples along with a total of £40 vouchers to spend on your favourite scent. This is the summer 2014 edition and its packed with beautiful scents that I can imagine buying in duty free just before a holiday. 5 pence of each box sale goes to the 'Rays of sunshine' charity, to date over £250 000 has been raised. I love it when beauty boxes or anything sends money to charities as part of your order. You can pass on the vouchers to your family once you have purchased your favourite, its a great idea to share with your boyfriend too.  In this box there is men's fragrance samples too, which is great as you can share it.
When you use your £40 vouchers you are saving on your subscription already, as it costs £20 to subscribe to the Discovery Club.

Samples:

  • Prada Candy Florale
  • Paco Rabanne Lady Million Eau My Gold
  • Agent Provocateur Fatale
  • Givenchy Dahlia Divin
  • Ghost Eclipse
  • Lacoste Live

I would love to purchase Ghost, I love the packaging and shape of the bottle. The scent itself smells great, it has summer fruits of apple, blackcurrant and peach. Which sounds awesome, that is a perfume I would use everyday during summer. I would also love to buy Prada Candy, this fragrance is me all over. I love how sweet it smells and the bottle is beautiful. I have been meaning to go and test this fragrance at the Fragrance shop, I think that's why this box is so handy. Bargain Face mask That Works Wonders!

Apricot Exfoliating Face Mask

I am a huge fan of using face masks every week as part of my pamper night routine but I have found a face mask good enough to use at least 3 to 4 times a week. Its a huge bargain at just 99p from Superdrug, I bought two to last me a couple weeks. I tend to get dry skin and to keep it at bay I want a good exfoliate for my face. I found this to do just that, it leaves my skin feeling super soft and exfoliated. I love the scent of this face mask too, its feels great on and sets really well. When you wash it off you can feel that just after 10 minutes it has done its job well. The most important part of using this face mask in my routine is that it removes any dry skin and your skin is left glowing. You can even see the results the next day when you apply your make up.

This is an amazing bargain which does wonders for your skin, I wish they did this in a full size bottle. I want to be able to have this at all times, its a wonderful product. When I have a bad skin day this is a great fix, it exfoliates away all the bad stuff. After a long day wearing make up this gives my skin the boost it needs. Please do a full size bottle of this soon?

What do you think of this face mask?

8 Ways To Solve Writers Block!

Recently I have seen a few tweets about not knowing what to blog about. We all get to the stage where we feel like we just cannot type a single word. We sit there starring into our laptops and getting distracted by YouTube. I do this and I know a few of my friends do too. I wanted to share with you how I try to stay on top of my blog ideas and how I find my ideas. If you have any tips please let me know in the comments. I would love to hear what you do to solve it.

Bloggers: I love to use Bloglovin to keep up to date with my favourite bloggers. It doesn't have to be just beauty related you can be inspired by so many other categories of blogs.I follow so many beauty blogs, Lifestyle, food and DIY. You can find so much inspiration on bloglovin, I sit in bed at night and scroll through the news feed to read all of my favourites. I also go into the categories on Bloglovin and I try find some new ones to read. Make sure if you do want to write a post similar to a blogger, make sure you give them credit. Stealing form other blogs is not cool, even by accident it could look bad. I always give credit to the blogger if I write a similar post. After all its great to share some love, chat to bloggers on the blog chats or just start up conversations on Twitter. The blogosphere is so supportive, put yourself out there and meet bloggers.

Magazines: I love to buy my monthly favourite magazines, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and many more. I love to keep them next to my bed to read through, I even keep a note pad and cut out any photographs and key articles that I enjoy. Magazines after all is what got me into wanting to start my own blog, a big influence in my life from a young age. There is so much inspiration in magazines, try this way and let me know how you get on. Its helped me stay organised and I feel full of creative ideas which is great.

Notes: I love to keep a note pad in my handbag in case I come up with an idea. If I don't write it down I know I will forget about it. I even keep notes in my phone, this helps me look back at them all when I feel least inspired and think that would be fun to write.

Fresh Air: If I find myself sitting at my laptop blankly I take my dog on a long walk. We got to our local park and it really helps to get some fresh air. I always come back feeling more inspired and 90% of the time I end up writing more than one blog post. Its something I enjoy and my dog  loves me more for it.

Time: If you always write a post at the same time of the day to go up for a scheduled time, try change it up. Sometimes I find if I change it all up a little, I come up with fresh ideas. Try sitting in a different location or change up your desk. Go and buy some new stationary for your desk, do you need an excuse for an Ikea trip?

Bath time: Do you find that you think about your best ideas in the shower or bath? Run yourself a beautiful Lush bath and relax. You probably will come up with some great ideas or you may feel way to relaxed, either way win win right?

Photo Album: share some stories about your teenage self, how did you use to wear all that cool glitter eye liner?

Have fun: Blogging is meant to be fun right, so don't let it become a chore. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Do something different, go on days out and take lots of photographs. You can literally make a blog post about anything you want, so go for it and be you!

Let me know if this has helped you beat writers block?

My Obsession With Lush Continues...

As you may be able to tell recently I am a huge Lush fan. I have purchased many new bath bombs and bubble bars, Lush make the best baths. I love bath bombs that turn your bath a bright colour and it helps me to relax after a long day at work. Lush products always make my bathroom smell amazing, even after a few hours. I got two of the Big Blue bath bombs and my boyfriend used one of them, he was amazed with the bright blue colour of the bath water.

BIg Blue: I am so impressed with this bath bomb, the colour of my bath was incredible. It felt like you were in the sea, such a bright amazing blue colour. I want to head back to Lush to buy a few more of these, it even relaxed me after a long day. It was a much needed bath and Lush never let you down when you need a decent bath. This bath bomb has arame seaweed in i which softens in your bath water. I love being by the sea side, its the most relaxing feeling and this bath bomb did that perfectly. The sea salt softens your skin and removes dry skin, my skin after my bath felt super soft and cared for. hints of lavender and lemon in the water which helps to relax you. I need a life time supply of this bath bomb, it did the trick and made my skin feel amazing.

The Comforter: I love a decent bubble bar and yet again Lush you never let me down. I love having bubble bars in my Lush collection due to the fact you can use as much as you want and it lasts at least 5 baths for me. This is great, you can crumble some into your water to create amazing smelling bubbles. Your bath turns pink too which is great, overall this product is a must. I need to buy my mom this one, I just know she would treasure it. You only need a small amount to make the perfect bubbly bath. I could use this everyday, oh I need to go to a Lush store to pick up some more soon!! What I love about this bubble bar is that it has a fruity smell to it, it leaves your skin super soft and makes you feel extremely relaxed after. Overall a great purchase and I will be purchasing this one again.

What would you recommend from Lush?

Make Up Revolution: Dupe for Urban Decay Electric palette!

Salvation Palette Colour Chaos

Recently I have been able to try out a new brand of make up that has been popular on the blogosphere. I have seen some great reviews about make up revolution and I can confirm I am a fan too. I am so pleased to have been given the chance to try this palette, its so far from my comfort zone. I recently did a brand focus blog post about Makeup revolution if you would like to find out more about the brand itself. (post)

This eye shadow palette contains 18 bold shades, the brightest in the makeup revolution product line. I think this one will rival the Urban Decay electric palette due to the quality and colours in the palette. All the shades are almost identical which is great if you want to try something new before splurging on the more high end deal. I am more than happy to stick to this eye shadow palette, it gives me the freedom to try something new with a great price tag.

As you can see in the last photograph, the pigmentation of the colours are of good quality. That swatch was with one touch of the colours, I am super impressed. I will do a full make up look using this palette soon, I want to be able to push my eye make up just that bit further out of my comfort zone. The colours would be great for a party or a hint of colour at festivals, its small enough to fit into your luggage. I think if I go on holiday soon this would be one I would reach for at night to work with my tan.

The packaging is of great quality, I love the sleek look of the palette. It stands out as a great product, I love that all the colours have names. It makes it a bit more personal and when you talk about the colours you love you can name them properly. I love the look of On a mission and gleam, super excited to try out some looks soon so watch this space.

I think this palette is also a good dupe for the Sleek I Divine Acid palette, I really enjoy using Sleek so I can image both being a great bold eye shadow choice. For £6 you cannot go wrong with this product, I think if you want to make a fun festival look go for this one.

I already know that this brand makeup Revolution is a drugstore brand I can trust. If you want to make a make up starter kit go have a look at the stand. You can pick up so many pieces for under £20. Its a great starter kit to test out your make up skills before splurging or a great brand to add to your ever growing make up stash like mine. Overall a great product that I know I am going to enjoy using to create different looks.

Have you tried this eye shadow palette?
What do you think of Makeup revolution?
