8 Ways To Solve Writers Block!

Recently I have seen a few tweets about not knowing what to blog about. We all get to the stage where we feel like we just cannot type a single word. We sit there starring into our laptops and getting distracted by YouTube. I do this and I know a few of my friends do too. I wanted to share with you how I try to stay on top of my blog ideas and how I find my ideas. If you have any tips please let me know in the comments. I would love to hear what you do to solve it.

Bloggers: I love to use Bloglovin to keep up to date with my favourite bloggers. It doesn't have to be just beauty related you can be inspired by so many other categories of blogs.I follow so many beauty blogs, Lifestyle, food and DIY. You can find so much inspiration on bloglovin, I sit in bed at night and scroll through the news feed to read all of my favourites. I also go into the categories on Bloglovin and I try find some new ones to read. Make sure if you do want to write a post similar to a blogger, make sure you give them credit. Stealing form other blogs is not cool, even by accident it could look bad. I always give credit to the blogger if I write a similar post. After all its great to share some love, chat to bloggers on the blog chats or just start up conversations on Twitter. The blogosphere is so supportive, put yourself out there and meet bloggers.

Magazines: I love to buy my monthly favourite magazines, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and many more. I love to keep them next to my bed to read through, I even keep a note pad and cut out any photographs and key articles that I enjoy. Magazines after all is what got me into wanting to start my own blog, a big influence in my life from a young age. There is so much inspiration in magazines, try this way and let me know how you get on. Its helped me stay organised and I feel full of creative ideas which is great.

Notes: I love to keep a note pad in my handbag in case I come up with an idea. If I don't write it down I know I will forget about it. I even keep notes in my phone, this helps me look back at them all when I feel least inspired and think that would be fun to write.

Fresh Air: If I find myself sitting at my laptop blankly I take my dog on a long walk. We got to our local park and it really helps to get some fresh air. I always come back feeling more inspired and 90% of the time I end up writing more than one blog post. Its something I enjoy and my dog  loves me more for it.

Time: If you always write a post at the same time of the day to go up for a scheduled time, try change it up. Sometimes I find if I change it all up a little, I come up with fresh ideas. Try sitting in a different location or change up your desk. Go and buy some new stationary for your desk, do you need an excuse for an Ikea trip?

Bath time: Do you find that you think about your best ideas in the shower or bath? Run yourself a beautiful Lush bath and relax. You probably will come up with some great ideas or you may feel way to relaxed, either way win win right?

Photo Album: share some stories about your teenage self, how did you use to wear all that cool glitter eye liner?

Have fun: Blogging is meant to be fun right, so don't let it become a chore. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Do something different, go on days out and take lots of photographs. You can literally make a blog post about anything you want, so go for it and be you!

Let me know if this has helped you beat writers block?

  2. I love the idea behind this post! I tend to come up with post ideas at the most inconvenient of times (thinking about blusher when I'm trying to get to sleep, or my favourite nail polishes when I'm on the loo). I make sure I always have a notebook handy so I can write them down, quite a few of my posts have happened that way!

  3. I've recently got back into blogging after a few months just stepping back and reading blogs and I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself to post religiously. Even if you're just reading and commenting on other people's posts you're still involved in the community! Whenever an idea pops into my head I save it on the notes section of my phpone and then when motivation hits I'll write out a few blog posts.
